Google Plus (G+) is a social media platform that is similar to, but in many ways better than Facebook.
As I mentioned in a previous blog on Social Media I would cover some of the other social media platforms and to day it is G+
G+ is really much more than a social media platform. It is a social layer that connects all of google’s products and services together.

So should you be on Google plus?
If you have any sort of business I would say you definitely should.
After watching the video what do you think? Should you have a profile and page on google plus?
You have a small business and they say that you should have a social media presence for it but where do you start?
That is a good question. Yes it can be overwhelming when you start to think about it, there are just so many social media platforms out there.
What Social Media platform?
Should I be on them all?
What should I be posting/sharing?
How do I go about it?
First you will need to know who is your target market or put another way who is your ideal customer. Here are some questions you need to ask yourself to figure this out
What is their age, gender, education, location?
What other sorts of products do they buy that relate to mine?
What problems do they have that you/your product/service solves
Where are they looking for to find it? Online? Print? Television? Friends?
What’s important to them?
Why should they from you or what may you different that they would want to buy from you not someone else.
You need to get very specific, the reason being is, it is easier to talk to someone if you know all about them. You might be thinking that you’ll be missing out on a lot of other customer by doing this. But you could also look at it that you will be getting less pain in the arse customers that take up more time than they are worth. You may have heard the saying “If you try to target everyone you will get no one”. The bonus is you get to deal with more people that you like dealing with.
What Social Media Platform
Now that you have established who your ideal customer is. It is time to consider what Social Media for your business. I will assume that you aren’t on social media yet.
Then I would suggest that you start with just one to begin with. Why? Because mastering one at a time easier and less overwhelming and once you have mastered that one move on and learn the next and over time you will develop a social media presence that will leave your competitor wondering what’s happened.

What Should I Be Post/Sharing
Social Media is about being social, interacting and engaging not about look what I’ve got! want to buy it? click the link. This is a mistake that a lot, I would say the vast majority, of people make. Every post is I have this wonderful (stuff) click the link to buy it from me.
What you should be sharing is:-
value (for free),
you being a real person,
showing your vulnerability,
show how people they can relate to you
and occasionally something you have to sell or an offer
It is all about building a relationship with people, letting them get to know you because people like to buy from people they know, like and trust. If you give enough value for free, when you do make an offer they will want to buy from you.
This is explained in the book “Jab Jab Jab Right Hook” by Gary Vaynerchuk basically give, give, give, ask and if you work along this strategy it will work for you ask well.

How Often Should I Be Posting
You should really be posting twice a day and you can experiment as to what works best for you regarding when and how often.
But the most important thing is consistency. If you can’t manage twice a day decide how often you are going post and make sure that you do it then. Don’t post twice a day for one week then miss the next week then once a day the third week. Your fans/follows like to hear from you that is why they are following you and if you’re all over the show they stop.

As we build a business, move forward and grow we are going to need support and guidance. Why Because we don’t know what we don’t know. And as the saying goes “If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got” And working behind a computer, at home, can get lonely So how and where do we get help and guidance to learn the skills and find out what you need to know. Here is Four options 1. A mentor 2. A coach 3. A mastermind group/community 4. Training/Education
noun:- wise and trusted counselor or teacher. or an influential senior sponsor or supporter. verb:- to act as a mentor: She spent years mentoring to junior employees. Generally a mentor is someone that has already done what you are looking to do. Someone that can guide you and give you advice on what needs to be done and how to do it. They are someone to talk to, they know what you are going through because they have already been there. You can learn from their mistakes which can help you avoid costly mistakes of your own. You will still make mistakes but a mentor can also help by discussing them and showing you how you can learn from them, move on and get over them. They are not someone that will do it for you. You are going to have to still put in the work and effort. How to find a Mentor
There are a couple of options for finding a mentor You can find one through networking. Someone you may know already and who you look up to, or someone you know may know a person that could mentor you There are also agencies and organisations that find mentors and will be able to match you with a mentor. Do a search online and you maybe surprised at what you find.
noun: A person who trains, instructs, and prepares verb:- To give instruction or advice to in the capacity of a coach; instruct: A coach is similar to a mentor but they may not have actually done what you want to achieve. A coach is there to give you advice on how you can achieve better results, learn and move forward in your journey to succeed. They can see things from a different perspective and can often see what you can’t and correct you. They can show you how to improve what you are doing. Or tweek thing to improve your results. How do you find a coach? Here are a couple of options
Find a coach You can talk to people you know and trust and ask for recommendations for a good coach that they may know and worked with. Here are some things you should ask them.
What specific things did their coach help them do?
Could they show revenue generated from the coaching?
Did they genuinely enjoy working with the coach?
You can also search online and be specific in what you are looking for. With modern technology they don’t need to be living close by, they could be on the other side of the world. I have worked with people in other countries using skype and emails.
3. Mastermind group/community
Building an online business is often a lonely task as you are sitting by your computer with no real human contact. Being part of an online community or a mastermind can overcome this. But there are also other benefit.
Being part of an online community who are doing the same as you and are like minded means that you can share ideas problems and if you get stuck you have people to ask. Even if they don’t know, sharing your problem with them can help
A mastermind is where 2 or more people come together with a common purpose. That purpose might be to grow and improve their business. They share a bounce ideas off of each other and what happens is like their minds combine to form a super mind and they come up with ideas they would never have come up with as individuals. Napoleon Hill explains the mastermind in his book “Think and Grow Rich” This is what he said about mastermind group principle:
“The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.“ He continues… “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind [the master mind].“
Learning how is by trial and error can be a long process so finding training or an education program to teach you what you need to know is a vital step to learning and building your business. There are a lot of different training/educational system and programs out there. They are not all equal, some are better than others and paying more doesn’t always mean that it is better than one that costs less. The thing is you have to do the research/due diligence. You may relate to someone’s training better than someone else’s because you make a connection with them even though other training may be better. The secret is find a program/system that you like, that has proven to work for other and then make it work for you. When you jump from one to the next to the next looking to the next big thing all that ends up happening is you loose both time, effort and money. Personally I have gone with the Six Figure Mentor and have found their training program really good in the they have the mentors, the training system and the community as well as tools. You are going online business support and help if you want to achieve results as fast as possible. This can be done by getting a coach, a mentor, joining a community or mastermind group and getting online training or an online education or all of them. But YOU are still going to have to take action and put all that you learn into practice.
